Santa Fe Snow

By Anthony • January 28th, 2010

We are back on track with Santa Fe winter in full swing. Steady snowstorms pushing in from the West bring us tons of new snow. Not only is the snow most excellent for us skiers, the snow pack also replenishes Santa Fe’s water supply in: reservoirs, aquifers and rivers.

I cleared my sidewalk of six inches new snow today. All in preparation for my timely departure early tomorrow morning so I can catch the wave of powder at Ski Santa Fe.

Since no one likes shopping for homes in snowstorms, I will ski Friday in Santa Fe. Then I will go skiing Saturday at Parjarito in Los Alamos, just one hour away. If I do not feel like downhill, I can also cross country ski in the Jemez Mountains on Saturday.

Next weekend, for a 3 day ski run, I am trying to decide between Purgatory, Colorado or Taos, New Mexico. My ski buddies are bragging they have twice the snow we do. They claim to be taking powder shots to the face as they ski in three feet of pow pow, nice!

So many choices, so little time………so just leave a message at 505-670-2177 and I will return your calls after apre ski.
